Screen captures - Soildworks

Part

This tutorial required to generate a model with a hole within the centre. As this was my first use of soildworks, I did have some difficulty getting the hang of the problem. On viewing the model, it seemed to me to look like a camera. In comparison to constructing this in other software, doing the hole and model is easier say in Max, but this is easier for fillets.

Loft

This model is what I would describe as a hammerhead. The most difficult part of this model was the curving the tail of the hammer along with connecting the head with the tail. If I was compare this to max- modeling is the easy part, but bending the tail would be extremely hardier.

Revolves and Sweeps

I found this to be the model I enjoyed the most, the candlestick, despite still having problems and asking for help. I think this is what the program is built for and it really does show its full potential when doing the model. Given though this can be done in Max, it does take a little longer.

363 George St.

This solidworks model of 363 George Street was quite easy to achieve and to construct. The way I constructed this was by removing parts that aren’t necessary similar to that in the part tutorial.

How will I construct the cactus model? The first job I will need to do is measure everything in sketch up, by dimensioning every space available, heights, lengths and width etc.

Once I have all dimensions, the best way to construct the cactus model is to eliminate all the unnecessary parts of the model by elimination. If this doesn’t work, Plan B will be to start constructing the building from the beginning.

Experiment 1, Custom and Found Machinima (update)

After last night problems with my videos, here is an updated version of my three youtube clips, alot cleaner, no quickness, no jumpyness and overall how i wanted it to look like.

Enjoy

As i had lots of problems with compression last night, today i found a wondeful guide for all those who are using premeire like myself. It explains the process in deatils and the results are better then if you just export it. The results can be seen above.

The webiste is:

Experiment 1 and Machinima videos

The above video is a composite of three videos found on Youtube. What I enjoyed most about these videos is that it shows the full impact of a massive explosion courtesy of an impact from above and from the side as well as an explosion within a container.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS61mYwo3-8&feature=related

My custom made video is similar in style as it mainly focuses on explosions from an explosion from above and an explosion with some objects around. These were both inspired by these two videos, even though it my not have had the same impact as the one from youtube.

Here is my first experiment and looks at a number of set explosion in an enclose area, particularly a office or lab environment. As one can see it is pretty deviating and does a lot of damage to all objects close by. If one experiences this themselves, they will likely die. Overall, I think it provides a lot of detail and drama when the explosion goes off.
